Answer: Extremely. In addition to the calories burned, exercise improves discipline and self regulation, resulting in better choices.
Dr. Brian Kaufman

Very: Weight loss should be from a combination of aerobic conditioning, resistance training and improved nutrition. Changing eating, or eating less can result in wieght loss but you are more likely tokeep the wieght off if youadd exercise to your regimen.

A 45-year-old member asked:

Which is better for weight loss: aerobic exercise or anaerobic exercise?

1 doctor answer4 doctors weighed in
Dr. John Thaler
Prosthodontics 41 years experience
Combo: You cannot perform any anaerobic exercise for very long,so you cannot burn many calories this way. Aerobic exercise can be performed for long periods of time when you are properly trained, and can result in weight loss with proper diet and nutrition. Combination is excellent, though not so much for weight loss as for conditioning. You will rev up your metabolism. Perhaps you meant cardio ?Good Luck
