Tuberous not tubular: The correct term is tuberous like the plant classification. Although it is common confused with tubular. This is also known as a constricted breast deformity. It is characterized by a narrow base diameter, nipple-areolar herniation, and a deficient lower pole to the breast. It varies tremendously in terms of severity from mild to advanced.

Tuberous Breast: Tuberous breasts are typically more narrow, with a higher fold under the breast. The breast looks as if it is hanging off the fold. Also the nipple tends to be stretched out and more full. You can have tuberous breasts on both sides but more commonly one side is normal so the differences I described are easier to see. Tuberous breasts can be corrected by Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
