A member asked:

Is potassium good for the heart?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mandatory: The heart requires a normal potassium level to generate transmembrane potentials necessary for normal cardiac conduction. In other words, potassium that is either too high or too low can cause cardiac arrest. It needs to be just right.
