Can be harmful: Walking only on the ball of foot can lead to foot pain or a condition called metatarsalgia. It can also lead to painful blisters and/or calluses, sometimes stress fractures of the metatarsal bones. Use your whole foot to walk, its designed that way.

No: The gait cycle needs you to push off with your toes..Anything else could cause foot strain.
