The standard: is irrigate a socket and remove food particles and pack the socket with dry socket paste to relieve pain, prevent food debris to accumulate in the socket and protect the exposed bone. Also rinse with Chlorhexidine (Rx mouth wash) 3 times daily for 7 days.
