Use metal paint can: There are several very simple, inexpensive ways to store and dispose of used needles and the like. I recommend to my patients that they go to a local hardware store and buy a few medium size empty paint cans and use them. Metal loose tea tins work very well, also. Then, when the containers get full, seal them and bring them to their physicians, who will dispose of them safely.
