Several options.: There are several options for treating thrombosed veins depending on the location of the clot. Deep vein clots are treated by anticoagulation. Superficial vein clots are treated by warm compresses and anti-inflammatories. Sometimes evacuation (drainage) of a clotted superficial vein is also done such as in the arm or leg and even a hemorrhoid (which is a vein).
