Several months: For skin, 10 days. Fingernails are fully replaced in 6 months. 12 months for toenails. For toenails about 60% of people see complete clearing in a year, with partial clearing seen much sooner and gradually pushing the abnormal nail off the edge. A nail is not a living tissue, cannot repair itself. So people take terbinafine for 3 months hoping to have a healthy toenail a year later.
