Vitreous detachment: You may be experiencing a posterior vitreous detachment. This is when the fluid/gel in the back of the eye separates from the retina. This is a natural aging process that can be exacerbated by trauma or surgery. Patients will complain of floaters (dark spots, spider webs etc) with or without flashes of light. If you are having new dark spots ; visual changes you should see your eye doctor for exam.
