Please advise what is it mean when a child (boy) pees blood when he uses the restroom?

See doc now: This needs to be evaluated right away. Does not need to be emergency room visit if child does not appear sick, but should be the next day at pediatrician's office. There are many possible causes ranging from simple infections to cancer. Also, what looks like blood in the urine might not actually be blood.
