can you tell me about child with trigger thumb?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Steven Brown
38 years experience Hand Surgery
Treatment: Most resolve on there own in first 12 months of life. If not resolved by 24 months surgery is indicated and should be done prior to 36 months. No surgical treatment is indicated prior to 12 months. Problem is at the level of the a1 pulley at base of thumb with binding of tendon at that level preventing tendon excursion, and treatment is division of the pulley.
