Popping knee: This could be from a meniscus tear that gets caught in the knee joint and causes your knee to lock up. Often patients have to "pop/unlock" their knees when it gets caught. Other reasons for popping is having the knee cap move out of alignment and pop back into place. Finally, an acl injury can cause knee instability and popping in the knee.
