A member asked:

Please let me know if there is any effective way to treat brain tumor-junior pilocytic astrocytoma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Most pilocytic astrocytomas occur in the cerebellum and the best treatment is neurosurgical removal, which is usually curative. Other locations also deserve surgery but total removal may be less feasible, for example in the optic chiasm and hypothalamus. In such cases some relatively well-tolerated chemotherapy may be helpful. Get several opinions from neuro-oncologists and neurosurgeons.
