Practice is oriented toward systemic health through thoughtful use of the mouth. I am an Oral Physician first and Surgeon secondly. What you place into your mouth is as important as the teeth and gums health. Practice philosophy is "prevention always in all ways". Therefore our evaluation includes understanding patient's goals for oral/systemic health, general health assessment, health and dental history, medications and supplement intake, hydration habits, sleep/snore review, diet interview including body mass index, skin profile, lip review, saliva and taste bud testing, oral cancer scan, mucous membrane scan, mandibular movement review, swallowing pattern, tongue motion analysis, salivary gland output test, chewing pattern and occlusion review, oral hygiene pattern, periodontal screen score, camera and digital xray imaging, laser analysis of virgin enamel, review of existing fillings and caries risk assessment. When necessary bacterial DNA profiling for specific pathogens, mounted study models for occlusal relationships, brush biopsy, saliva buffering testing, saliva pH monitoring, dietary counseling, remineralization tray therapy and other problem specific testing.
