Maybe: Hypertension is very common in male adults and some are sensitive to the effect of antidepressants of ssri type. It is important to prevent hypertension with diet changes and treat it if out of range. Your psychiatrist may like to try other antidepressants to see if you improve on them. Depression may be the result of your medical problems too, which affect your cardiac health.
