I am 8w5d pregnant. i had my hcg level tested, the first test came back at 175, 644. tested again 48 hrs later and it was 190, 244. is this normal?

Yes: At this point, the HCG levels will still continue to rise but the pattern of rising isn't something that we typically measure or use for diagnostic purposes. But, yes, the fact that it's rising is a good thing.
