Depends: In general if a nuclear stress test is abnormal, followup testing should be performed, particularly if there are symptoms. I note that you have a few risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The most likely next test in most patients would be an angiogram, to take a look directly at the heart arteries for blockages. From there, treatment depends on what is found. Check with your doc: There are a number of possibilities for an abnormal nuclear stress test. Sometimes the test has an artifact or error. However, it may mean that you have a narrowing or blockage in one or more of the arteries to the heart. This may require medications to treat it. Other times more invasive tests such as an angiogram or coronary stent procedure is performed.

Yes...: Yes...other tests can be good to confirm findings. There are many imaging modalities and many different types of tests which can each provide part of the big picture. Some tests can have false positive results so it is good to gather all possible data to support the diagnosis.
