Sonographer says that egg is released from one side and at the other side there is a big follicle. what does that mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ovulation: Eggs can be released from either ovary. If you are pregnant there is a cyst called corpus luteum that secretes hormones early in pregnancy. If you have a ovarian cyst and are not pregnant, it could be due to a variety of reasons, and not ovulating could be one of them or that you are about to ovulate. If you have pcos that is another reason to see small ovarian follicules, however they are small.
