Went to pcp 5 weeks ago. suggested to buddy tape toes, would not x-ray. still black/blue, swollen, painful, won't straighten out. what should i do?

Orthopedist ; X-ray.: If concerned, see an orthopedic surgeon and get an x-ray. Sounds like it may be healing in that position.

X-rays needed: Clearly, if the toe is still swollen bruised, painful and most importantly, not in proper alignment, x-rays are needed. Buddy splinting is effective if the toe is in proper alignment and the fracture (if present) is non-displaced.

Displaced fracture: If eccymosis (black and blue) swelling and pain is still present after 5 weeks, you must have a displaced fracture of the toe. You should see your local podiatrist for the proper treatment.
