A member asked:

Does the entire bundle of nerve roots need to be compressed for it to be cauda equina syndrome or can a person have same symptoms with one nerve?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually not: Typically the diagnosis of caudal equina syndrome is made when multiple nerves going to the pelvic and leg regions are pinched/compressed. If only one nerve is pinched the diagnostic term used is different.
