Like normal: They just attach lines to you to monitor your brain, heart and breathing but when you fall asleep it is regular sleep. Today most sleep centers have homey rooms with comfortable beds.

Polysomnography: You are usually asked to go to bed at a certain time. You will have leads to record brain waves, oxygen levels in your blood. heart rate, breathing, eye and leg movements. It is painless. I suggest bringing your own pillow for comfort.
