Yes: The placenta produces a great deal of alkaline phosphatase. You can read reference ranges that will put a top somewhat lower. I've often seen higher levels just from pregnancy. A non-fasting alk phos may also be high just from eating, varies with blood type, and generally an elevated alk phos isn't worrisome if the person seems otherwise well. I would not be concerned.
