Recurrent yeast: The reason for recurrent vaginal yeast usually is unknown. Poorly controlled diabetes is one serious cause. Other immune deficiencies can do it, but quite rare. Ongoing or repeat antibiotics. Tight clothing sometimes is blamed, but mostly an urban myth. Usually not sexually transmitted. Weekly fluconazole (DiflucanĀ®) by mouth can prevent most outbreaks.
