Personal hygiene: to maintain normal pH balance will deter infection. Use of probiotics (greek yogurt etc) and antioxidants (cranberry concentrate) are useful complementary measures. Use of some medications chronically may alter the pH balance encouraging bacterial overgrowth. Loose fitting clothing and cotton under garments work best.
