Throat infection: Acute tonsillopharyngitis is infection of the pharynx & tonsils usually manifested as sore throat, fever, difficulty swallowing & swollen neck glands, most likely caused by viruses, sometimes bacteria such strept. & also infectious mononucleosis. Only bacterial infection needs antibiotic treatment, other causes need supportive & symptomatic relieve.
