A member asked:

What might full blood count and coagulation screen detect?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood count: a complete blood count [CBC] measures red blood cell count, size and shape, which are proxy measurements for iron, Vitamin B-12 and folic acid, white blood cells which fight bacterial and viral infections, provide immunity, platelet cells which help with blood clotting. A coagulation screen detects problems with the production of proteins made in the liver that are required for clotting.
