Can you tell me about anesthesia awareness (i.e. being awake during surgery)?

Recall.: It is the postoperative recall of intraoperative events and it is a very unpleasant experience if it occurs. The common settings for this to occur is when the patient does not get enough anesthetic so that they are rendered unconscious during surgery and worse if muscle relaxants are used in this setting. This experience can also occur in the ICU and post anesthesia care units(pacu) as well.
