A member asked:

I think my boyfriend has nystagmus? his eyes move funny?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Involuntary movement: Nystagmus is an involuntary movement of both eyes under defined conditions. People can be born with it. If it begins after childhood, a neurological examination is necessary. The movements can be the same velocity in all directions (pendular) or more rapid in one direction than the other (jerk). The vision is usually reduced, but it can be surprisingly good. There is no effective cure.
