Depends: You may get referrered pain from a tooth, like a wisdome tooth. The tooth is infected but you get "ear pain". Unlikely however that the infection would actually spread in that your ear would be infected.

Probably not: Infections in upper jaw drain to the base of the brain and then down. In lower jaw infection spreads along the lymph nodes down your neck. Sometimes infection gets into the space between your skin and the underlying tissues and spreads along this plane. Before abscess (infected tooth) spreads see your dentist for treatment or referral to an endodontist or an oral surgeon.

See yr dentist ASAP: A tooth abscess won't go away without treatment and the infection may spread to your jaw, cheeks, sinus, ear and to other areas of your head and neck. Dentist will treat a tooth abscess by treating the cause and getting rid of the infection. See your dentist ASAP.
