Maybe: To some degree it depends on what you are trying to fix. Listerine has a very high alcohol content, as well as do many other mouth rinses. This may cause certain problems... Talk with your dentist or post another question with what problem you have.

Yes: Yes it can and crest pro health is alcohol free, so it is less drying to the mouth tissues. However, in some people, it can cause stains on the teeth that can be cleaned off by a hygienist.
