It is better: Listerine works well to reduce bacteria and inflammation. It also does improve breath as well. It does contain alcohol. Breath rx is another mouthwash that reduces breath odor.

Better than some : Listerine has good anti- microbial benefits but it contains alcohol which may dry your mouth out if used long term. I recommend smart mouth or pro health which are also anti microbial and do not contain alcohol.

Some info for you: First, mouthwashes are usually not necessary to maintain healthy gums and teeth. Too many patients think that it is part of a successful regimen of good oral hygiene or can mask or cure some dental problems. Proper tooth brushing, flossing and the use of a tongue scraper is essential. There are indications for the use of mouth rinses- fluoride, antibacterial, etc. Discuss with your dds.

ADA seal is the best: Always look for the ADA Seal mouthwash to insure that the product has been objectively evaluated for safety and effectiveness. Good luck.
