Neuromodulators,: Such as Gabapentin can help with neuralgic pain. Narcotics, with the exception of methadone, do not help, so try to avoid starting opioid meds. Medications like Cymbalta or Effexor (venlafaxine) can also help. If you have tried these medications, consider topical pain creams containing small amounts of ketamine. Also, continue things like contrast baths, desensitization techniques and counseling if unbearable.
