A member asked:

Hi doctors, was just wondering what is a technetium sulfa colloid scan?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nuclear med study: Study performed in Nuclear Medicine area of Radiology Department. Radioactive medicine injected and scanned with special camera. Can be used to detect liver masses (except FNH) or to confirm liver dysfunction, although not used as often with MRI & CT available. Can also be used to locate a GI bleeding site or to evaluate stomach emptying.
