Yes: Sphenoid sinusitis is an inflammation of the most posterior of the paranasal sinuses and is situated in the bone above the soft palate. One of the major symptoms is persistent pain on top of the head. If you are very symptomatic, and you need surgery, your surgeon should make you aware of the landmarks adjacent to this sinus. The are the optic nerve, the carotid artery and the pituitary gland.
