Could hemicolectomy during appendectomy mean cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Could be: If a cancer is found and you've consented to let the surgeon do what's needed once inside, a hemicolectomy when the clinical diagnosis suggests a cancer was found in the appendix or nearby, but there are other possibilities. If it is your colon, then your surgeon has a duty to explain. If it is someone else's, i'm not going to second-guess.
