Vent. perfusion scan: Perfusion ventilation scan is used to define certain lung diseases. The most common use for diagnosis of pulmonary embolism.Scanning combines ventilation scan, usually radioactive gas xenon 33, and tc99m maa (particles injected intravenously) for perfusion. Typically compares areas of deficient perfusion with areas of ventilation. Embolism usually multiple perfusion defects not ventilated.

Vent/Perfusion: I agree, VQ is a ventilation and perfusion scan. It is used to detect defects in either or both.
