Most of the time yes: Often a skin sparing or nipple sparing mastectomy can be performed, which saves all or most of the skin. The breast can be reconstructed often at the time of mastectomy by using an implant, or by using a woman's own fatty tissue from the abdomen or back. Ask your breast surgeon if you are a candidate for immediate reconstruction, and to refer you to a plastic surgeon.

Prosthesis : The other option if reconstruction is not done, is a prosthesis. You can get bra with a "falsie" built in so no one can tell that you had surgery with you clothes on. Insurance pays for this. Ask your oncology team for a prescription.
