Do you know are dental shots (lidocaine, etc) dangerous?

Not Normally: When given by a competent dentist, the answer is generally absolutely no. However, if the solution is injected into a blood vessel, then that could cause problems. Therefore it is not generally the solution as much as the technique.

Risk/Benefit: Typically not. When you weigh out the risk/benefit. The benefit far outweighs the risk. Talk with your dentist about your concerns.
