Confused about breaking a hip and blood clots, what to do?

Hip fracture: Hip fracture with its associated bedrest due to pain , immobilization and surgery will lead to increased risk of deep vein thrombosis (blood clots in the deep leg and pelvic veins). DVT may lead to clots thrown to the lungs and even death. Therefore anti clotting agents are prescribed to prevent DVT after hip fracture.
