A member asked:

Could total blindness caused by retinal detachment be treated so that vision can be regained?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: Current medical knowledge cannot improve upon this situation . The optic nerves in your eyes perhaps are fine and work is being done on photoelectric devices to give a little vision in this situation. Stem cells may help also in the future. Stay tuned.
