Treat venous ulcer.: Venous ulcerations are usually due to chronic venous insufficiency secondary to refluxing venous valves in the saphenous or perforating systems of veins. Once ulcers form they are difficult to heal and are painful. Medication may help to control the pain but the best way to eradicate the pain is to heal the ulcer. You should see a vein specialist for a full venous evaluation including a sonogram.
