Abnormal vessels: Vascular malformation is a general term that includes congenital (=present at birth) vascular anomalies of veins, lymph vessels, arteries or combination of them. For example malformations that include arteries and veins such as where arteries connected directly to veins without any capillaries in between are called arteriovenous malformations (avms).
