Varicocele: Collection of dilated spermatic veins almost always in left scrotum. Feels like a "bag of worms" when standing erect ; disappears when lying down. Due to an absence of or defective venous valves between testis ; vena cava. Means there is back pressure from a column of blood from your neck downwards. May be associated with reduced fertility due to diminished sperm motility ;/or scrotal discomfort.

Hope this helps.: A varicocele is a mass in the scrotum caused by defective valves in the testicular veins, which cause blood to pool, and the veins to expand. The pooling blood raises testicular temperature and affects testosterone and sperm production, which can affect fertility. Men can still have babies w/ this, but the odds are lower. Tx safely w/ varicocelectomy, ligation, or embolization.
