Challenging situatio: The case I am sure must be very complex for you to ask such a question. The best answer i can come up with is that i believe it is always worth reaching out to a healthcare professional whenever an illness bothers a person. Sounds like this fits that description for you. I believe it is nearly always more beneficial to be treated for an illness than suffer the consequences of it's diagnosis. Best!

Only you can decide: That. You are 18 which means that living independently from your family is an option. If you have a serious mental health illness and don't obtain treatment - it may not only ruin your quality of life but might also become worse over time. You might consider starting with your primary care provider - who can then provide you with input about possible mental health disorders. Take care.

Don't tell.: You are of adult age and does not need to let your father know about your condition. I strongly urge you to contact a mental health clinic (which may even be free) and get the proper care asap. You can be sure that your visit and diagnosis will be kept confidential. Don't delay any further and given your father's attitude towards mental illness, he may just be part of the cause.
