Evaluation: That might be an abscess forming from that residual root left in the gums after extraction.. You need to be examined and evaluated for that root extraction and antibiotic treatment might be needed for that abscess..

Infection: Sounds like there is still infection in the area where the root is retained. Contact the dr. Whom extracted the tooth as soon as you can.
