RETINAL SURGEON : Question for sure. You wouln't want to mess with your eyesight. It takes quite a bit of time to heal. Follow recommendations to a "t".

Retinal detachment. : Depends on how you heal and what is placed in the eye during surgery, silicone oil vs. Gas. Typically, 2-4 months are required for complete healing. 6 weeks at least before returning to normal activity. I am sure your retina specialist will discuss this with you as you continue to heal post-operatively.
