Depends: There are different strategies for this. In some cases it may be best to push the dose up as high as can be tolerated without significant side effects to maximize the chance of a good response. Once a dose is reached, it usually takes at least a month for most of the effect to take hold (and improvement can continue for 12 weeks or more).
