A member asked:

Why are lymph nodes measured by their short axis? what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lymph nodes: Lymph nodes are oval, so there is a length and shorter width. The width is measured to determine if they may be enlarged, as normal lymph nodes can be long but still have a normal waist.
