A member asked:

Can lungs exposed to pollution clear the tar and stuff from tobacco smoke as well as on the farm?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Can't hurt.: It is known that immediately stopping smoking will add years onto one's lifespan. Depending on the amounts used over time, the lungs will suffer some degree of damage that can not be replaced. Breathing in noxious fumes, such as farm dander, can also be deliterious to the lungs over time.
