Diet: Drink plenty of water after surgery. Minimize the use of narcotic pain medications. Follow the directions of your surgeon. Warm bath to sit in may help. Avoid straining ; constipation. Use fiber supplement like metamucil. Take a mild laxative if needed like milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide).

Good Hygiene, soft..: Hello,
you should have very careful hygiene measures, using tucks (witch hazel) or cottonelles or similar after each bm. Also strive to keep bm soft. This is best done with bulk agents such as metamucil and fiber in your diet with plenty of fluids.
